Sciatica Symptoms

If you experience pain starting in your lower back or hip area and radiating down the leg, my advice to you, spend no rime on looking and checking what is wrong with you, but book an appointment with acupuncturist as soon as you can. Sciatic nerve inflammation is not a joke. It develops fast and brings more and more agonizing pain.

Sciatica – The Real Life Story –

I share with you my own experience. I had two episodes of sciatica in 2000 and then in 2003. Doctors said to me that I had ‘nothing’ and offered using anti-inflammatory drug and crutches. Usually, I have high pain tolerance but Sciatica pain and the disability it gave me was unbearable. In 2003, after second time suffering such a pain, I applied to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.

Sciatica – What is it?

So, what is Sciatica? It is an inflammation of the Sciatic nerve, the main nerve that innervates lower back, hip, thigh and leg muscles. If at the beginning it feels mild, you are lucky. My advice is, run to see acupuncturist to stop this condition instantly. Moreover, acupuncture can prevent it from further development or starting again in the near future. Let acupuncturist take the inflammation under control.

Rarely in some clinical cases Sciatica starts because of the bulging disk of lumbar vertebrae pressing on the sciatic nerve. In such a case, acupuncturist will advise you to ask your doctor to either have X-ray to rule this condition out or refer you to the neurologist or orthopedic surgeon for operation. In our clinical experience such a case happens in one in hundreds of patients.

Sciatica Dealing With

Symptoms of Sciatica besides having agonising pain radiating down behind the leg or along the side of the leg are pretty disabling. Some people can’t walk normally. Pulling the harmed leg behind, can’t lay down, sit down. In a very severe case, people aren’t able to dress up or undress on their own. That’s why I say, one should hurry up for help as quickly as possible. Otherwise, in a few weeks it will become chronic and will take more effort and treatments to get rid of it for good.

According to our experience, you will need to have treatments every day, every second day, twice a week or weekly, depends on how bad it is. The acupuncturist will schedule your visits based on severity of the inflammation, pain level and your ability to come to clinic. The sooner your treatments will be scheduled, the less visits you will need due to massive healing impact.

Monitoring the improvement acupuncturist will know how often you should come to clinic. For instance, the arrangement could seem like two visits a week for the first week, then once a week for couple of weeks, and consequently couple biweekly visits to consolidate the result.

After such therapeutic course, you are going to feel as you never had sciatic nerve inflammation, feeling pain shooting down the leg, feeling disable to walk. Shortly, you will feel that you can live and enjoy your life. Our patients often say that they are feeling ‘like new’.

Clinical Relevance

Sciatica related to neurological condition and often shows in patients who are under great stress, not able to withstand strong negative impact, easily become disappointed or frustrated. Stress is easily affecting liver and gallbladder. To understand about liver and what thoughts and emotions can weaken liver function you can read on pages 83-93 in my book, Your MindBody Alliance & The Truth About Acupuncture.

Our clinical experience shows that people who are not educated in anatomy and physiology are not aware of how to preserve their health. The lack of knowledge and understanding how mind and body correlate leads people to feel out of control over their own health. Reading this book everyone becomes knowledgeable enough to withstand any body health problem and preserve one’s health.
