Sinusitis
Acupuncture helps people suffering from sinusitis to feel good sinusitis, what is it?
Sinusitis is an inflammation or swelling of the tissue lining the sinuses. Sinuses are hollow cavities within the bones in your forehead and behind your cheekbones. They produce mucus which keeps the inside of your nose moist. That, in turn, helps protecting you against pollutants – dust and allergens.
Sinuses are healthy as they are filled with air, yet when they are blocked and filled with fluid, bacteria can grow to cause an infection.
Sinusitis Symptoms
Infection due to bacteria, virus, smocking, smock of any kind can cause the infection as inflammation of the Sinus cavities resulting in feeling such symptoms like inability to breath freely due to swollen nasal mucous membrane that causes poor sleep and postnasal drip irritating the throat. It is a torture to be unable to breath freely, make a full inhale and ease the breathing. People suffer from headaches, tightness in the head, feel exhausted due to lack of oxygen entering the Lungs and the whole body.It also is pretty tough to operate through the day after sleepless, restless night. Some people have a massive mucus discharge when they blow their nose.
Mucus that blown out off nose can help with the diagnosis
The color of the mucus might vary. It can be white, colorless, yellow, greenish or brownish. The color depends on the organ involved in the disorder and is feeding the Sinus infection and inflammation.
Acupuncture for sinusitis
We often see people with Sinusitis in our clinic and there is no better reward than when the sinus cavities pain and pressure is instantly going away and patient starts breathing freely during the acupuncture session.
In Japanese acupuncture we apply two acupuncture point around the navel that help release obstruction, pressure and pain in sinus cavities as well as reduce the inflammation.
There is one acupoint acupuncturist will use to stop mucus production and the other one that can assist the body to utilize or dissolve the mucus that is already stored in the sinus cavities. The next step is to assist the mucus membrane narrow down and open the nasal air passages to restore the breathing.
In Japanese acupuncture besides tiny needles, we also use the Ionic pump cords (patient feels nothing) which speed up mucus membrane recovery and improve breathing.
Clinical Relevance
With is important to remember about sinusitis? The longer people suffer the worse the condition becomes. There the most two organs are involved – lungs and spleen. To understand how to keep these organs healthy you should learn from reading pages 70 -78, and 95-107 in my book, Your MindBody Alliance & The Truth About Acupuncture.
Our clinical experience shows that people who are not educated in anatomy and physiology are not aware of how to preserve their health. The lack of knowledge and understanding how mind and body correlate leads people to feel out of control over their own health. Reading this book everyone becomes knowledgeable enough to withstand any body health problem and preserve one’s health.
